Renshi Samuel Carlson is a 4th degree black belt in the arts and sciences of GoJu-Ryu Karate and a 24 year combat veteran of the United States Army. He is the direct student of Grand Master Balfour S. Wright , the founder of the Society of the Harmonious Fists. Renshi Carlson has 20+ years of study within the Traditional Karate literacy to include study of Shito-Ryu Karate and Aiki-jitsu. Renshi Carlson is the 1994 National WUKO sparring Champion and a five time Kentucky State Karate Champion , 1993, 1994, 1996, 2002, and 2003. He is the owner and chief instructor of the Institute of American GoJu. (THE KARATE DOJO).
